Meeting & Conference Parking

If you have been invited to visit the campus or take part in a function organized by the campus you need authorization to park.
In this Section

Guest = a person who is invited to visit the campus or take part in a function organized by the campus. This does NOT include faculty/staff who are in paid status or students who are signed up for classes and paying tuition.

Authorization = a virtual parking permit provided by Police & Parking Services that grants permission to park in a specified location at a specific time.

Help make your guest's parking convenient and trouble-free. Provide them with:

  • Parking authorization
  • Good directions
  • Information about campus parking

Your Guests Need Your Help With...

  • First, contact Police & Parking Services to reserve a parking area (please allow a three-day processing time or the request may not be filled).

Parking Capacity for Meetings/Conferences/Guests

  • Guest parking is limited and provided on a first availability basis. Lots do fill up on busy days.
  • Parking requests are best made as soon as your final guest count is determined.
  • Parking for larger conferences works best on a Friday or during break/summer session.
  • Very large conferences may require parking off campus and shuttling to campus.

Parking Areas for Meetings/Conferences/Guests

  • Meetings/conferences are typically being assigned to Lot 27, south of the General Services Building.
  • Other parking areas may be available during the summer and school breaks.
  • Smaller groups may be accommodated in lots nearer the center of campus.
  • When campus lots are full guests may be directed to park at a pay by plate area or on a city street.

How to Arrange Meeting/Conference/Guest Parking

Send your parking request via the form.

Please note: Last minute requests for parking accommodations (3 days or less notice) may not be granted.

Bus Parking

General guidelines for parking on or around campus:

  • Parking in 黑料社区 lots is monitored and regulated 365 days a year. Regulations are posted on lot entrance signs, signs in specific portions of the lots, and on our website:
  • Parking on all streets through, and adjacent to, campus is regulated by the City of Menomonie. Drivers should follow regulations set forth by the city.
  • Exceptions to parking regulations for 黑料社区 events may be granted and will be relayed from 黑料社区 Police to event coordinators. These exceptions will be in writing and issued to the event coordinators.
  • Buses are only able to utilize UW parking lots for parking on weekends after 4pm on Friday 鈥 Sunday afternoon or by written exception from 黑料社区 Police.

Drop-off / Pick-up:

The drop-off and pick-up of passengers should be a short-term event and can be done with the following exceptions to parking and regular traffic regulations:

  • Stopping along the edges of lots and in drive lanes, even if marked as a 鈥渘o parking鈥 or 鈥渇ire lane,鈥 is permitted if done for the purposes of the drop-off or pick-up. NOTE: The driver must always remain with the bus.
  • Briefly stopping in the drive lanes of UW parking lots where it does not impede the regular flow of traffic for an extended period is permitted for drop-off and pick-up only.
  • Briefly stopping along the curb on city streets for the purposes of dropping-off or picking-up passengers has historically been acceptable, however, drivers should refer to City of Menomonie regulations regarding any street stopping or parking.
