Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE)–  In cases of sexual assault, these facilities offer medical/forensic examination by a trained SANE nurse. If the assault was recent (within 120 hours – 5 days), survivors should save clothing that was worn and not shower/ bathe in order for physical evidence to be collected. Requests for health insurance billing information to not appear on parents' health insurance may be available upon request. Services are confidential. The best way to access these services in the Menomonie area is to call the Bridge to Hope at 715-235-9074. They will be able to connect you with a SANE nurse If you are out of the area, any hospital emergency department can connect you with a SANE nurse.
