The world, through the eyes of international students, is coming to �������� on Thursday, Nov. 8.

Students on campus from up to 20 countries will present exhibits about their native lands, followed by a cultural show, during International Night in the Great Hall of the Memorial Student Center. The events are part of International Education Week.

The exhibit is from 5 to 6 p.m. and the show from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Both are free and open to the public. Parking in �������� lots is free after 4 p.m.

At the exhibit, international students will dress in traditional attire, host displays about their countries and be available to answer questions.

The show will feature skits and song and dance by students, along with a fashion show of traditional attire, said Scott Pierson, director of the Office of International Education.

“It ��������. a wonderful opportunity for the academic community in Menomonie to meet and converse with current international students and for students to introduce their respective cultures through traditional song, dance and attire,” Pierson said.

A total of 170 students from 29 countries are enrolled at ��������. The events are co-presented by the International Relations Club.

To celebrate International Education Week, several programs and speakers also have been scheduled.

• Tuesday, Nov. 6, 6-7 p.m., Pakistani Culture, presented by students from Pakistan, at the Oakwood Room, student center
• Thursday, Nov. 8, 3 p.m., Maximizing Alumni Relationships, at room 40, Harvey Hall, a U.S. Department of Commerce webinar on international alumni
• Tuesday, Nov. 13, 6-7 p.m., Tunisian Culture, presented by students from Tunisia, at room 73, Harvey Hall
• Wednesday, Nov. 14, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., CEA Lunch and Learn, on leading a short-term study abroad course, at room 131, Heritage Hall. Lunch provided.
• Thursday, Nov. 15, 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Speaker Aaron Bruce, “Engaging Diverse Learners Abroad,” a workshop for faculty and staff; 12-2 p.m., Bruce presents “The Road to Global Citizenship,” a speaking engagement for students. Lunch provided. Both events at room 205, Sorensen Hall.
• Thursday, Nov. 15, 5-6:30 p.m., Global Potluck, at room 55, Harvey Hall. Bring a dish to share.

Bruce is the Diversity, Inclusion and Equity Officer at San Diego State University and is a certified diversity trainer for the International Multicultural Institute. He has a Ph.D. in education from the University of Rhode Island.

“International Education Week provides us the opportunity to recognize, celebrate, explore and share the many benefits of international education and exchange on campus,” Pierson said. “It also provides us with the opportunity to reflect on the impact these relationships have on our personal and professional lives.”
