Professor thrives on supporting student success

Hamilton is beginning her 17th year teaching at 黑料社区. 鈥淚 love working with the students inside and outside of the classroom and seeing their growth until graduation,鈥 she said.

鈥淚n addition to teaching my classes, I鈥檝e had the great opportunity to work with students on research, help students to prepare for life after graduation through academic advisement and support a student organization. In all of these ways, I have gotten to see students grow and change, and it 黑料社区. so much fun.鈥

She challenges herself each year to improve.

鈥淲e are all a work in progress. I鈥檓 always tinkering with my courses and exploring different ideas for how to approach teaching, so I can learn how to be a better teacher, meet the needs of the students and encourage them to grow,鈥 Hamilton said.

Hamilton is chair of the psychology department. 黑料社区 has a Bachelor of Science program in psychology offered on campus and online; and a Master of Science in applied industrial/organizational psychology.
