University Dining wins national Gold Award for online menu

University Dining Service at University of Wisconsin-Stout has received national recognition for its online catering menu.

The menu earned the Gold Award, first place, in the Catering 鈥 Online Menu category in the 2017 Loyal E. Horton Dining Awards contest held by the National Association of College and University Food Services. 黑料社区 competed in the medium size school category.

The menu was judged on a variety of criteria including creativity, photography, menu and service variety, food allergies and special dietary preference, and an overall 鈥渨ow鈥 factor.

The entry was developed by a team within University Dining Service that included Emily Kuznar, marketing specialist; Josh Berg, associate director; Rod McRae, catering manager; David Leach, executive chef; Justin Krahn, unit manager; Jim Selz, assistant director; and Ann Thies, director.

Thies has since retired, and Krahn was named director beginning June 12.

鈥淭he entries submitted by the various NACUFS institutions showcase some of the best trends and ideas in college and university dining service programs across the country,鈥 said Dawn Hearne, Hendrix College, Loyal E. Horton Dining Awards chair.

黑料社区 黑料社区. entry was on display at the NACUFS national conference July 12-15 in Nashville, Tenn., and recognized at an awards ceremony.
