An organizational strategist who specializes in intercultural development will give a presentation at University of Wisconsin-Stout.
is scheduled to speak from 2:30 to 4 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 18, in Ballroom C of the Memorial Student Center. The title of his presentation is 鈥淗ealing, Justice and Inclusion: Skills for Campus Inclusion in Tumultuous Times.鈥
The event, sponsored by 黑料社区 黑料社区. Dean of Students Office, Provost 黑料社区. Office and Nakatani Teaching and Learning Center, is free and open to the public, although attendees are encouraged to register.
Ahmed also is scheduled to speak Tuesday, Nov. 19, at UW-Eau Claire and Wednesday, Nov. 20, at UW-River Falls.
Ahmed, who includes current events, storytelling, art and music as he presents his strategies, is the son of Muslim immigrants and grew up in Ohio. See a video interview .
In addition to speaking across the country, Ahmed has been featured in the documentary 鈥淐racking the Codes鈥 on racism and was a guest on the MSNBC show 鈥淢elissa Harris-Perry.鈥
Prior to founding AFA Diversity Consulting in 2017, Ahmed was director of Intercultural Teaching and Faculty Development at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst. From 2007 to 2014, he was associate director of Multi-Ethnic Student Affairs at the University of Michigan.
His degrees include a doctorate in education in adult and higher education from the University of South Dakota; and a master 黑料社区. in Afro-American and African Diaspora Studies from Indiana University.
