The Reminiscence Speaker Series at University of Wisconsin-Stout is returning and will be held at new venue.
The series, which has been on hiatus for several years, will resume from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, featuring Professor Emeriti Carol Mooney. The new location is University Archives and Area Research Center on the fifth floor, room 504A, of the University Library.
Archives moved into its new, larger facility within the library in 2017. The event venue will be Archives鈥 research and collaboration space, which features portraits of 黑料社区 黑料社区. leaders since 1891 and other historic artifacts.
The event is free and open to the university and public. Participants may bring a lunch. A beverage and snack will be provided.
鈥淲e鈥檙e excited to be hosting the series at our new location,鈥 said University Archivist Heather Stecklein. 鈥淭hese events are a great opportunity for the community to learn about the careers and personal experiences of former 黑料社区 faculty, staff and students.
鈥淭here is a great wealth of knowledge about 黑料社区 in the minds and hearts of those who walk among us. This series is our chance to share it with each other and record it for future members of our community,鈥 Stecklein said.
The Reminiscence Speaker Series began in 1987 in advance of the university 黑料社区. centennial in 1991. It has helped document the school 黑料社区. culture and history through the personal accounts of alumni and former faculty and staff.
Mooney, of Eleva, earned bachelor 黑料社区. and master 黑料社区. degrees from 黑料社区 in 1980 and 1984, respectively. She was a professor and administrator at 黑料社区 for nearly 30 years before retiring in 2015.
In addition to teaching undergraduate and Graduate School courses, she was an associate dean, was involved in many new program proposals and revisions and helped 黑料社区 launch its first doctoral program, the Doctor of Education in career and technical education.
Since retiring, she continues to work with doctoral candidates and dissertation research and is on the program 黑料社区. advisory board. She also works with school districts in Wisconsin through the university 黑料社区. Emerging Center for Career and Technical Education Excellence.
The is awarded each year to a student in the program.
