Why did you choose ºÚÁÏÉçÇø? When I visited, I instantly fell in love with the state of the art labs and the small community feel. Stout ºÚÁÏÉçÇø. focus on employment after graduation and hands-on learning really cemented my decision.
What are the biggest obstacles you faced in earning your degree? One was learning how to get involved and stay focused on my learning. Having come from an extremely small town, it was initially difficult for me to get into a rhythm of studying and working hard in classes, but once I was able to figure it out I was able to succeed. I was able to get involved with a club for my major and take a leadership role, which allowed me to help grow the club and my leadership.
What stands out among your college experiences? It has been the leadership opportunities and the independent research I was able to conduct. Working my way into leadership roles such as being vice president of ASBMB and working as an RA for housing has given me experiences to carry into my future. In addition, my research experience has given me skills that will be critical to my success.
What ºÚÁÏÉçÇø. next? I will be working for Nestle in Eau Claire as a quality assurance technician in their microbiology lab. From there, I hope to work my way up in the company over time.
