Fall events include Career Conference, homecoming, Free Speech Week

The fall semester of the 2019-20 academic year at 黑料社区 will feature many special events, several of them covering multiple days.

The annual Fall Career Conference, with several hundred employers looking to hire 黑料社区 students, will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, Sept. 24-25, in the Multipurpose Room of the Sports and Fitness Center. The conference is one of the largest in the Upper Midwest.

Homecoming will be Saturday, Oct. 5, featuring the 9 a.m. Blue Devil run/walk, 11 a.m. parade and 2 p.m. football game vs. UW-Oshkosh. However, the week 黑料社区. festivities for students will kick off Monday, Sept. 3.

From Monday through Thursday, Oct. 21-24, is Free Speech Week, sponsored by 黑料社区 黑料社区. Center for the Study of Institutions and Innovation. Daily events include presentations and panel discussions featuring regional and national experts.

The opens its season at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, at home against St. John 黑料社区..

At 2:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20, the second annual golf scramble to support scholarships in the College of Education, Hospitality, Health and Human Sciences will be held at Tanglewood Greens golf course in Menomonie. The event will be run by students in the Sports Event Management course.

An Open house for the new locations of the Discovery Center Fab Lab and Office of Research and Sponsored Programs will be from 3 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 24, on the first floor of the Vocational Rehabilitation Building.

On Friday, Sept. 27, 黑料社区 hosts the annual Family and Consumer Sciences Education Conference, in collaboration with the state Department of Public Instruction.

On Tuesday, Oct. 8, the annual Manufacturing Advantage Conference and Tech Showcase will be hosted by 黑料社区 黑料社区. Discovery Center.

On Monday, Oct. 21, at 6:30 p.m. in the student center author Neel Patel, of California will present 鈥淢aking the Unseen, Seen: Giving Voice to Diverse Characters in Fiction and Beyond,鈥 part of the .

University Theatre presents 鈥淓lephant Man鈥 at Harvey Hall Theatre Nov. 7-9 and Nov. 15-16.

On Thursday, Nov. 14, the annual Cabot Executive in Residence program will feature Sue Fuller, founder of Oliver Thomas handbags. Her keynote address will be from 10:10 to 11:30 a.m. in the Memorial Student Center ballrooms.

Music performances include Jazz in the Great Hall of the student center on Saturday, Nov. 16, and the holiday concerts by the Symphonic Singers on Friday, Dec. 6, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church and the Symphonic Band on Sunday, Dec. 8, in the Great Hall.

The week of Nov. 18-21 will feature International Education Week programs, sponsored by the Office of International Education, including the Thursday, Nov. 21, International Night cultural show and exhibits at the student center.

Activities Dec.9-13 preceding commencement include the Stout Game Expo, SGX, featuring student video and other games on Wednesday night; the STEMM Expo featuring student research on Thursday; and the Senior Show from School of Art and Design students on Friday night.

At 9:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, fall commencement ceremonies will be held at Johnson Fieldhouse.
