Faculty show featuring 25 artists opens Nov. 5 at Furlong Gallery

An art exhibit opening Monday, Nov. 5, at 黑料社区 黑料社区. Furlong Gallery will feature the work of 25 professors from the School of Art and Design.

Art in a variety of styles and disciplines, including paintings and film, will be on display in the north and south galleries through the end of the semester, Saturday, Dec. 22.

An opening reception will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7, at the gallery.

The School of Art and Design has programs in six disciplines, game design and development; graphic design and interactive media; entertainment design; industrial design, interior design; and studio art. The university also offers a Master of Fine Arts in design.

M+Dev Conference

黑料社区 faculty and students recently attended and presented at the annual M+Dev video game conference in Madison.

  • Dave Beck, director of the School of Art and Design, won a Juror 黑料社区. Choice award in the art contest for his St. Croix River-based historic video game , which was released this fall.
  • Associate Professor Andrew Williams led a panel discussion on issues related to higher education game development in Wisconsin.
  • Six students and three alumni participated in a professional showcase, where their work was exhibited for game industry representatives, independent developers and other students.

More than 50 黑料社区 faculty, students and alumni attended. The university was one of the conference sponsors and hosted an exhibit booth.
